Description
The throttle trigger serves as a lever that transfers the pressing force to the carburettor via the throttle lever (wire). Its design includes a seat for the return spring and a safety lock that prevents accidental throttle application. Given that this is the point of direct contact between the operator's hand and the machine, ergonomics and wear resistance at the place where the pin passes are of decisive importance for safe operation. Technical specifications Manufacturer: STIHL Catalogue number: 1118 182 1006 Material: Special polymer (polyamide), resistant to impact and petrol. Connection: Integrated seat for the throttle lever and a hole for the pivot pin. Compatibility This throttle trigger is one of the most widely used in the STIHL range and fits the legendary series: Medium class: 024, 026, MS 260, 028. Stronger medium class: 034, 036, MS 341, MS 361. Heavy class: 038, MS 381, MS 382. Service note: When replacing the trigger, pay most attention to making sure that the trigger's pin (pivot) is properly cleaned and lightly lubricated. If the seat in the plastic of the handle is too widened, the trigger may have "free play" that makes control difficult. Take the moment when the handle is open to inspect the inside and check the condition of the intake manifold hose where it enters the carburettor housing. Tighten every screw of the handle cover with a feel for it, as threads in plastic are easily damaged. Advantages of the original Precise geometry: The original STIHL trigger guarantees that the throttle will open fully and, more importantly, close fully. With cheap copies, the "tail" of the trigger often does not have the ideal angle, so the saw is left running at high revs. Safety factor: The plastic of the original has been tested for material fatigue. A trigger breaking during work can be extremely dangerous, especially when felling trees. Perfect spring seating: The spring seat is precisely dimensioned, which prevents the spring from falling out or being "chewed up" inside the handle. Chemical resistance: The material does not react to fuel mix and oils, so the trigger stays smooth and does not "stick" even after many years of use in the harshest conditions.
