Made to strict factory specifications from a material of extreme thermal resistance, this original OEM gasket protects the surrounding plastic housing of the saw from melting and ensures optimal back pressure inside the cylinder, which is necessary for smooth running and maximum power of the two-stroke engine. Every time the muffler is removed or serviced, the old gasket must be replaced with a new one, because once compressed the material loses its micro-sealing properties. Before fitting the new part, the seating surfaces on the cylinder and the muffler must be perfectly flat and cleaned of soot residue, grease and deposits of the old gasket.
